Pattern "Super-Easy Sponge Bag"

I made the pattern in two sizes - a small one and a bigger one - as you can see in the picture. The bigger one can also be used as a pencil case.

Needles and Yarn:

You need needle 5mm and one skein of wetemas Filwolle dünn - handgefärbt for both bags.

CO 40 [50] sts using 5mm needles.

Work in garter stitch for 10 [21] rows => 5 [11] ribs.

Row1 (WS): k 5; p 30 [40]; k5;

Row2 (RS): k

Repeat these two rows 18 [25] times more.

Work in garter stitch for 10 [21] rows => 5 [11] ribs.

Bind off.

Turn so that the Cast-On- and Cast-Off_Edges build the sides of the work.

Join both sides.

Sew yarn ends.

Put it into your washing machine and wash it with your laundry - best with jeans at 40°C.

After washing flatten your bag and let it dry.

Lining and zipper:

Measure your bag and buy a fitting zipper.

For your lining make a paper pattern: Apply your bag on a paper and trace the silhouette of your bag on the paper. Cut out. Use paper pattern for cutting your lining without any seam allowance.
Sew the lining.
Sew the zipper on the lining.
Sew the zippered lining into your bag.
